INDONESIAN MOST ADMIRED KNOWLEDGE ENTERPRISE (MAKE) STUDY

"Learning happens all through life unless we block it. Organizations therefore need consciously to become learning organization, places where change is an opportunity, where people grow while they work." - Charles Handy

The concept of Knowledge Management/KM was formulated in the late 20th Century. By the early 21st Century, many world-class business & some non-for-profit organizations have adopted it. KM has been gaining ground in this country as well.

In the eyes of one of the KM pioneers, Karl-Erik Sveiby, KM is about creating value by leveraging intangible assets. While for McKinsey & Co, Knowledge Management is to enhance performance through a purposeful and systematic approach to the creation, development, and application of knowledge to the value-creating of an organization.

How can we measure the maturity of an organization in KM? And, how do we know that the management is committed to KM implementation? MAKE (Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise) Study can help us find the answers.

Aside from measuring maturity and commitment of KM application, MAKE Study is one of the best, globally-recognized methods to help organizations benchmark or learn best practices of world-class knowledge-based organizations. MAKE is run by Teleos UK, an independent knowledge management research company that benchmark best practice knowledge-based organization globally.

Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) was established in 1998, commencing with Global MAKE Award; followed by Northern America, European and Asian MAKE Award in 1999; Japan MAKE Award in 2002.

With the spirit "to make Indonesia a knowledge country by making our companies knowledge-based organizations", Dunamis Organization Services has conducted Indonesian MAKE Study since 2005. This event is a national knowledge management event where Indonesian MAKE Winners will share their best practice in implementing KM in their organizations. The Indonesian MAKE phase will begins with the nomination event and we continue the phase with the award event which will give recognition to the most admired organizations.

The Indonesian MAKE Study is conducted, then, to enable enterprises in Indonesia to benchmark how successful their knowledge strategy is when compared to competitors or the world's leading knowledge driven enterprises and encourage leaders in creating intellectual capital and wealth through the transformation of individual/ enterprise knowledge into world class products/services/solutions. Indonesian MAKE Study is the most comprehensive Knowledge Enterprise (Management) Event in Indonesia.

It is Dunamis aspirations' that Indonesian MAKE Study becomes the barometer of the knowledge management best practices in Indonesia. We believe with more organizations in Indonesia becoming a knowledge-based organization, the dream for Indonesia to have a culture of excellence will become closer to reality.
